Thrilling Weekend

Hi all,

This weekend I had another tennis tournament. It was my first tournament outside of this year and it was on my favorite surface "clay".

My first match was against Ryan Canyon, I had never played him in any of my matches so I didn't know what to expect. The conditions were hard playing in freezing cold rain but that was not gonna let the match get in my way.I got out to a good start winning the first set 6-0. In the second he looked to be getting stronger and he leveled the match at one set all taking it 6-3. In the third it was a head to head battle when I just got to make a final move winning the Match 6-0/3-6/6-3. I was happy to make it to the quarterfinals but knew I had a long way to go.

In the quarterfinals I had to play Lewis White. I had played him 4 times before in my life, not loosing a single meeting we ever had, and this time it didn't look like it was gonna be any different, I took the match in a little less than an hour winning 6-0/6-2 to book a place in the semi final.

The semi final was going to be a more close affair, when I had to play the 2nd seated in the tournament Brady Kenyon. It was another hard day as the rain started falling down. It was not easy playing in the rain but we managed to play. Loosing the first set 6-4 and falling back in the second 5-2 0-30 was gonna have to be a challenge coming back all the way. I wasn't ready to give up after saving 3 match points and coming back to 4-5. I was desperate to make a come back but at the end Brady was too strong and it was him who would play in the final on Sunday after winning 6-4/6-4, and I would play for 3rd place.

Playing for third place I had to play #3 seated Jake Kuhlman. I had already played him a few times not being able to win any of them. The first set was a close affair but yet again he was the one who had it his way winning the first set 6-3. In the second everything seemed to go his way when he won 6-3/6-1. Even though I lost, I was impressed with my performance on and off court.

I had a good single round, but now had to focus on doubles. My partner Sam Hochberger and I had to play Bobby Frazzini and Eshan Varma in the first round. The wind was incredibly high and we were again under though conditions. We played a 8 game pro set and just over 30 minutes we had a 8-3 victory in the bag. This meant Semi Finals once again.

In the Semi Final we had to play the Kuhlman brothers. Mitchell and Jake. Jake being the one whom I lost to playing for singles for third place was not gonna give up on a match like this. It was a crazy match but we finished stronger winning 9-7. I was speechless and amazed by our performance. and this meant one other thing... a Final.

In the final we had to play an unstoppable team of Mark Johnson and Anthony Rosa. We did all we could but the conditions were to hard and lost 8-5.

It was a wonderful tournament and even though it was rainy and windy I was delighted with my performance. I found this tournament an amazing achievment and will always come back here. I want to thank the directors and empires of the tournament for doing a good job and being as fair as you possibly can.

I won 2 medals, one for 4th place singles and one for runner up doubles.
You will hear about me in a couple of weeks when I have me next tournament!!!

Till then,
my friends!!!!
